What is the difference between Self Employed and Sole Proprietorship?

According to Canada Revenue Agency, if you are self-employed, you have a business.

If you have a business by yourself, you have a sole proprietorship.
If you have a business with a partner, you have a partnership.

On the other hand, if you choose to carry on a business under a name other than your own personal name, you must register with the Corporate Registry.

Therefore if you operate with your own name, there is no difference.
If you operate with a name other than your own name, you must register.

How can I save my time if I work with you for my accounting needs?

As a small business owner, you should concentrate on how to grow your business and make it more profitable rather than spending time with your bookkeeping. Many small business owners (especially in the beginning of establishing their business) make the mistake of not taking their bookkeeping needs seriously. They think that they can handle their books themselves. What usually happens is that they are buried under paperwork after some time.

They pay penalties and interest because they can not keep track of the various deadlines like payroll, HST, WCB payments. They make costly mistakes as they have not proper training in accounting. The worse is that most of the time, they are not even aware of all these because they are too busy. You can have your peace of mind back by hiring Tekbas & Associates. By having your bookkeeping done timely and accurately, you will also see where your business is going (not where it had already gone) by analysing your financial data with us. Accounting is not only done to be able to calculate the taxes but it should also help you to make decisions like cost savings in your business.
